開場白
開場白比較簡單，一般就是一個簡單的問候和寒暄，如：Good morning，dear distinguished teachers! I am very glad to be here for this interview.其中要特別注意要與面試老師打招呼。
關于姓名，畢業(yè)院校
所學專業(yè)部分不是自我介紹的重點，同學們在講這部分的時間基本就是面試老師們?yōu)g覽個人簡歷的時間，這部分按部就班介紹就可以了。參考表達：I am Li Ming. My English name is Jacky Lee. You can call me that if you’d like to. I am majored in Electronic Science and Technology, I will graduate from Xidian University in this coming July.
考研原因
考研原因幾乎是每個導師都會關心的問題，因此最好把這個問題就放在自我介紹里面說了。這部分的內容我們務必要讓考官感到我們選擇這個專業(yè)是經過深思熟慮的，是一個理性的選擇而不是一時沖動。通常我們可以從以下三個方面來回答。
興趣
興趣，即強調對所報考的專業(yè)懷有極大的興趣(have significant interest in…)。如果本科就讀的專業(yè)與報考的專業(yè)一致，則可以說明想繼續(xù)深造(further education)的愿望。如果不一致，則要說明報考專業(yè)對你的吸引力 (…appeals to/attracts me a lot)。
優(yōu)勢
優(yōu)勢，即強調研究生相對于本科生在知識、學術方面的優(yōu)勢，如：知識面更廣(wider knowledge)，學術更專業(yè)(more professional)，眼界更廣闊等(broaden one’s horizon)。
益處
益處，即強調考研對你的未來的積極影響(have a positive effect on…)，可以從求職、職業(yè)規(guī)劃、人生經歷等方面入手進行說明�？蓞⒖嫉脑~匯、短語如下：be helpful, contribute to, be beneficial to, be conductive to, be a definite advantage, become a strong point when it comes to… 等等。
對于那些在職考生或有工作經驗的考生來說，考官樂于知道他們?yōu)槭裁?放棄工作而)重新學習�？忌梢灾毖栽诠ぷ靼l(fā)現(xiàn)某些知識或技能很重要，希望能通過學習在這些方面進行提高 (In my work, I found … is rather important. I always believe that one will easily lag behind unless he keeps on learning. So I choose to go back to school and improve myself。)。
然后，可以在自我介紹中展現(xiàn)自己對未來的規(guī)劃，其目的在于向老師們展示自己對時間、學習、人生有一定計劃性和掌控能力。參考回答：I plan to concentrate on study and research in this field in my graduate time. And I hope I can form a systematic view of ... and make a solid foundation for future profession after three years study here. After graduation. I would like to work as a .... I hope that in five years after graduation, I can....
最后，請務必表達出對來目標院校就讀的強烈意愿。并給出一個明確的結束的信號。例如：I would be very honored if you could grant me the opportunity to study in this university. That’s all about my self introduction. Thank you!
