　　require 是及物動(dòng)詞，意思是"需求，要求"。常用下列句型結(jié)構(gòu)：

　　1) 接名詞作賓語(yǔ)。例如：

　　This job requires strength.這份工作需要體力。

　　Your presence is urgently required.你務(wù)必到場(chǎng)。

　　2)接不定式作賓語(yǔ)補(bǔ)足語(yǔ)。例如：

　　They required us to help them. 他們要求我們幫助他們。

　　He was required to leave.他被要求離開(kāi)。

　　3)接that從句(從句謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞should+動(dòng)詞原形，其中should可省略)。例如：

　　She required that I(should)go at once.她要求我立刻去。

　　The situation requires that immediate action(should)be taken.情勢(shì)上需要立即采取行動(dòng)

　　4)接動(dòng)名詞主動(dòng)式或不定式被動(dòng)式。例如：

　　These temples require repairing next month . = These temples require to be repaired next month. 這些廟宇下個(gè)月需要修繕。

　　例如：

　　I will do what is required of me.凡是要求我做的事，我都會(huì)辦到。

　　He required more help from me.他要求我提供更多的幫助。

　　demand與 require的用法辨析

　　1) 有時(shí)可互換。例如：

　　They demand [require] my appearance. 他們要求我到場(chǎng)。

　　2) 兩者的細(xì)微區(qū)別是：demand 通常指堅(jiān)持其應(yīng)該有或必要的東西，暗示要求者權(quán)這樣做，常有命令之意;require 通常指按照法律、規(guī)章、規(guī)定、慣例、環(huán)境等提出要求，其客觀性較強(qiáng)。例如：

　　The policeman demanded his name and address. 警察要他說(shuō)出他的名字和地址。

　　We require warm clothing for the winter. 我們需要過(guò)冬的暖和的衣服。

　　3) demand 后可接不定式，但不接動(dòng)名詞;而require表示“要求”時(shí)，其后既不接不定式也不接動(dòng)名詞。例如：

　　She demanded to see the manager. 她要求見(jiàn)經(jīng)理。

　　He demanded to be told everything. 他要求把一切都告訴他。

　　【注意】：require 表示“需要”時(shí)，其后可接動(dòng)名詞(用主動(dòng)表被動(dòng))或不定式(用被動(dòng)形式表被動(dòng))。例如：

　　The room requires cleaning [to be cleaned]. 房間需要打掃了。

　　4) demand 不接不定式的復(fù)合結(jié)構(gòu)，但 require 后可接不定式的復(fù)合結(jié)構(gòu)。例如：They required him to keep it a secret. 他們要求他對(duì)這事保密。

　　All the members are required to attend the meeting. 全部會(huì)員均要求出席會(huì)議。

　　【注意】：demand 后不接不定式的復(fù)合結(jié)構(gòu)，但 demand of 后可接不定式的復(fù)合結(jié)構(gòu)。例如：

　　They demanded of her to go with them. 他們要求她同他們一起去。

　　require的用法：

　　require在英語(yǔ)中作為動(dòng)詞一般有以下4中用法

　　（1） require sth需要，依靠

　　These pets require a lot of care and attention。

　　這些寵物需要悉心照顧。

　�。�2） require sb to do sth要求某人做某事

　　At the beginning of the new term，all students will be required to take a short test。

　　在新學(xué)期的開(kāi)始，所有學(xué)生都要參加一次小測(cè)試。

　　（4） require that +從句需要，要求

　　在require引導(dǎo)的賓語(yǔ)從句中，謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞用“should +動(dòng)詞原形”，should可省略。

　　The situation required that he （should） be present。

　　這種情形需要他在場(chǎng)。
